Advanced components and systems for biomedical instrumentation
MACS is an innovative start-up operating in the field of medical diagnostics, it was founded in 2019 by a team of professionals of the sector. MACS is listed in the special register of innovative companies of the Rome Chamber of Commerce.
MACS aims to innovate the market for medical diagnostic devices through the introduction of ‘cutting-edge’ hardware and software technologies. To this purpose, MACS develops advanced components and systems in the field of biomedical instrumentation, with a particular focus on “in vitro diagnostics” (IVD).
MACS is looking to the Future, building a world of intelligent and connected medical devices and solutions. MACS implemented a quality system compliant with the international standards UNI EN ISO 13485: 2016.
What is an Invitro Diagnostic Product?
An invitro diagnostic product is a reagent, an instrument, a system used in the diagnosis of a disease or other conditions, including a determination of the state of health. IVD products are used to cure, mitigate, treat, or prevent disease or its sequelae. These products are intended for use in the collection, preparation, and examination of specimens taken from the human body (source: www.fda.gov).
Diagnostics industry and “IVD” shapes the healthcare industry transformation
Thanks to the growing availability of health management tools, both online and on a smartphone, everybody is more aware of his/her health needs.
Everybody can access his/her health data everywhere with a touch of a button. Patient centricity is becoming more and more important both for health needs and healthcare delivery.
Thanks to “IoT”, we can embed “things” with sensors, software & technologies, connecting them with other devices and systems over the internet.
“IoT” asset monitoring and data exchange may provide many benefits to the healthcare industry. For example, a Doctor may know the exact location of patient-assistance assets such as wheelchairs.
Thanks to “AI” – Artificial Intelligence, it is possible to develop machine learning technology to assist medicians in making more accurate diagnoses.
Thanks to technologies and connecting data management, healthcare systems can evolve from focusing on reactive treatment-based care to predictive and preventive healthcare.
In this way, healthcare systems could maximize value for patients by helping them achieve the best outcomes at the lowest possible cost.
